Matumizi ya wastani na mawazo mema ni dalili za maisha ya furaha. Watu wakubwa wote wa ulimwengu wamesisitiza juu ya maisha ya wastani. Matumizi ya harija hufilisisha, hayasitawishi. Wazee wetu walikuwa watu wa wastani sana katika maisha. Walikuwa na haja chache lakini walikuwa na furaha. Walikaa mapangoni au katika vibanda vidogo, walivaa ngozi au mavazi ya wastani, wakala chakula cha kawaida. Walifurahi wakaridhika sana na maisha yao ya wastani. Lazima pawe na wastani katika mambo yote ya maisha. Mavazi yetu lazima yawe na wastani kwa kitambaa na kwa namna. Chakula chetu lazima kiwe cha wastani lakini kitie afya. Mapambo yetu lazima yawe ya faraja yasiwe ya fahari. Nyumba zetu zaweza kuwa za faraja lakini za wastani. Vitu vyote vya faraja lazima viwe vya wastani iwezekanavyo.

Tena yatupasa kujifunza wastani katika maadhimisho yetu. Twatumia mali yetu pasipo kuwaza katika maadhimisho ya arusi, katika chakula, nguo na sherehe. Tuna harija ya fedha wakati wa Idi au Sikukuu. Twamimina mifuko yetu kwa mazishi ya jamaa. Hili halifasiri kwamba hatupasi kujifurahisha kwa sababu njema.

Wastani hupingana na fahari na anasa. Twavaa mavazi ya siku hizi, si kwa sababu yatupa furaha kubwa, lakini kwa sababu wengine wapate tuajabia. Twaweka mapambo ya mitindo mipya kabisa katika nyumba zetu si kwa sababu ya faraja zaidi ila kwa kuonyesha utajiri wetu. Lakini hapana mwisho wa fahari na anasa. Kila tuzidipo kuzipata twazidi kuzitamani. Anasa na fahari hazituridhishi, lakini wastani hutupa amani mioyoni mwetu.

Wanawake hushindana kwa mavazi yao. Kanga, mabuibui, marinda, viatu, soksi, mifuko, miavuli, kofia na vingine hugeuzwa ajabu kwa mawazo ya wanawake. Pana mifano kwamba waume wapendapo wastani wake wao hupenda fahari. Wanawake lazima wajifunze ubora wa wastani.

Wastani hutupa furaha, lakini anasa hutupokonya. Wastani huleta amani moyoni, lakini fahari huifukuza. Wastani hutupa ridhaa, lakini anasa hutunyang’anya. Libasi ya urembo haizidishi furaha yetu hata chembe, ila pengine hupingana na mwendo wetu. Twalipa fedha nyingi kwa anasa zetu. Walakini, wastani kwa sababu ya wastani peke yake hutufurahisha.
