We prove that the existence of one horosphere in the universal cover of a closed Riemannian manifold of dimension $n \geq 3$ with strongly $1/4$-pinched or relatively $1/2$-pinched sectional curvature, on which the stable holonomy along one horosphere coincides with the Riemannian parallel transport, implies that the manifold is homothetic to a real hyperbolic manifold.

We prove that for $C^{1+\theta }$, $\theta $-bunched, dynamically coherent partially hyperbolic diffeomorphisms, the stable and unstable holonomies between center leaves are $C^1$, and the derivative depends continuously on the points and on the map. Also for $C^{1+\theta }$, $\theta $-bunched partially hyperbolic diffeomorphisms, the derivative cocycle restricted to the center bundle has invariant continuous holonomies which depend continuously on the map. This generalizes previous results by Pugh, Shub, and Wilkinson; Burns and Wilkinson; Brown; Obata; Avila, Santamaria, and Viana; and Marin.

The aim of this paper is to establish exponential mixing of frame flows for convex cocompact hyperbolic manifolds of arbitrary dimension with respect to the Bowen–Margulis–Sullivan measure. Some immediate applications include an asymptotic formula for matrix coefficients with an exponential error term as well as the exponential equidistribution of holonomy of closed geodesics. The main technical result is a spectral bound on transfer operators twisted by holonomy, which we obtain by building on Dolgopyat's method.

We consider some deformations of ${{G}_{2}}$-structures on 7-manifolds. We discover a canonical way to deform a ${{G}_{2}}$-structure by a vector field in which the associated metric gets “twisted” in some way by the vector cross product. We present a system of partial differential equations for an unknown vector field $w$ whose solution would yield a manifold with holonomy ${{G}_{2}}$. Similarly we consider analogous constructions for Spin(7)-structures on 8-manifolds. Some of the results carry over directly, while others do not because of the increased complexity of the Spin(7) case.

In this paper we give a relation between the Futaki invariant for a compact complex manifold $M$ and the holonomy of a determinant line bundle over a loop in the base space of any principal $G$-bundle, where $G$ is the identity component of the maximal compact subgroup of the complex Lie group consisting of all biholomorphic automorphisms of $M$. Using the property of the Futaki invariant, we show that the holonomy is an obstruction to the existence of the Einstein–Kähler metrics on $M$. Our main result is Theorem 2.1.
