The co-leaders for the 2009 APSA Africa Workshop (Accra, Ghana, June21–July 11) were officially selected by the Project SteeringCommittee after an open and competitive process that concluded inJanuary. The U.S.-based leaders of the workshop will be Dr. DanSmith (University of Florida) and Dr. Kevin Fridy (University ofTampa) and their Africa-based colleagues will be Dr. BeatrixAllah-Mensah (University of Ghana, Legon) and Dr. Ukoha Ukiwo(University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria). The theme of the 2009workshop will be “Elections and Democracy: Exchanging African andComparative Perspectives.”
