Abstract

We demonstrate the detection of Magnetic X-ray Circular Dichroism (MXCD) from commercial, thin-film spin valves. Measured x-ray absorption spectra on these devices indicate magnetic polarization of the ferromagnetic constituents, Fe, Co, and Ni.
